About Life in Ms. taYlor's Class
Welcome!
My name is Laura Taylor and I'm so excited to be teaching your students! I teach Theatre 1, Advanced Theatre, and Technical Theatre. I grew up in Dallas, TX, then went to Utah to to earn my degree in K-12 Theatre Education with a minor in English Teaching from Brigham Young University. I lived there for 8 years where I met my husband, and in 2017 we moved to Austin for him to start a Masters program at UT. Glad to be back in the Lone Star State!
I've taught theatre at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, which gives me a special expertise in my students' development and abilities . I've been performing for over 15 years, and directing for 10. While my background is primarily in theatre, I also once worked as a director for a film production company, so I love working in the film world and finding opportunities to introduce it to my students! I'm so excited to get to know all of you, and I can't wait to start this school year with your students as we learn together.
